Epic 2013 poster9/12/2023 The theory of bugs and flies seeing things in slow motion was priceless and the appearance of slow-moving giants from a fly's perspective totally nailed it in this movie. The way Mary Katherine (MK, who unfortunately died at 18 in reality from brain cancer) shrunk was more like a roller coaster ride and if any of you ever experienced that it'd be a TOTAL pants-wetting thrill. The idea of shrinking has been done many times in movies, but still executed well in this, yet the perspective totally suspended disbelief. Nature involving battle between good and evil mixed well and the lessons learned tell us to take good care of nature. The idea of the plot and story made perfect sense and so did the visuals. I 1st saw it at school and it totally nailed it. This was a perfect flawless A+ movie that came out in 2013. In addition to the violence, there's a romantic nature to two relationships in the movie, as well as several flirty (and snotty) jokes courtesy of a slug voiced by Aziz Ansari. The main villain is merciless and believes that it's his mission to destroy the forest and rule over a rotting wasteland. adolescent storyline that should appeal to kids, but know that there are definitely battles and even a small body count (mostly due to arrows). Part eco-friendly tale and part tiny-creatures story, Epic (which was inspired by the characters in William Joyce's children's book The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs) centers on a teen girl who's magically shrunk into the world of miniscule armed archers called Leafmen who protect the forest from evil. Parents need to know that Epic is an animated adventure from the same studio behind the Ice Age franchise and Rio.
